PARENTS and children can learn how to use the internet more safely at talks lined up for this month.
Teachers and police have set up the scheme to help make young people aware of the dangers of sharing personal information online.

Five Internet Safety and Responsible Use events will be hosted at secondary schools in the county.

Ollie Bray, depute headteacher at Musselburgh Grammar School, who will be leading the workshops, said: "Most young people are digitally literate and they have the knowledge to use technology and social networking spaces. However, they don't always have the wisdom to back up that knowledge and because of this they do not behave responsibly online."

Go away with your pink and fluffy nanny-state rubbish!

How to use a computer on-line safely:

1. Don't open the cover of the computer or monitor when it is switched on and then stick your fingers in it.

2. Don't rest your fag in the ashtray and then forget about it---it might burn down and fall on the floor.

3. (For the real idiots) Don't put your computer in the bath when it is full of water and try surfing the net as you luxuriate in Radox.

Dear Alternative (High Octane) Fuel Head

Its great to see you in there again with your totally un-productive comments.

Tell me when will you reply to my last challenge? Which talk are you going to come to and critique for me?

Looking forward to hearing from you. You can get in contact with me via my website – Google me if you want to find it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Ollie Bray
