EVAN OLIPHANT took a break from preparations for this weekend's Charles Messenger Road Race in Buckinghamshire to post a win in last night's fourth round of the Cycling Scotland Ingliston Criterium Series.
The 26-year-old Plowman Craven rider broke clear early in the race with series leader David Lines (Pedal Power) and Great Britain mountain bike international Ross Creber (Science in Sport).

The trio worked well together and forged a lead of more than 40 seconds over the pursuers at the bell.

Although Creber and Lines made bids to break away over the final circuit, they were still together entering the home straight where Oliphant edged out Creber and Lines extended his lead in the series with third place.

He will be in action in tomorrow's third race of the Scottish Power Renewables Super Six Series near Paisley.
