LOTHIANS cyclists will mix with some of the world's leading riders at the British Road Race Championships in Wales this weekend, writes COLIN RENTON.
In the 100-mile men's event on Sunday, Evan Oliphant and Gary Hand head the Endura Racing Team challenge, while their team mate Ross Creber is also in the 190-strong field but will contest the Under-23 category.

Alex Coutts, who showed good form in last week's Tour of Serbia, will compete for his Greek team Heraklion Nessebar Kastro.

The field includes world-class stars Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins and David Millar. The women race over 80 miles tomorrow with Edinburgh RC rider Claire Thomas pitted against World and Olympic champion Nicole Cooke. Also in the field is former Edinburgh rider Pippa Handley.

• KEVIN BARCLAY (Endura RT) defends the Scottish Criterium title in Erskine on Sunday with Ross Crook (Edinburgh RC) among his likely challengers.
