Edinburgh dog attack sees 26-year-old woman hospitalised with serious injuries

The 26-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

A woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being attacked by two dogs in Edinburgh.

Emergency services raced to a property on Leith’s Academy Street this morning and the 26-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Multiple police and paramedics were reportedly seen in the area. Officers remain on the scene.

The attack happened on Academy Street

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.15am on Thursday, 16 May, 2024 officers were called to reports of a person having been attacked by two dogs within a property at Academy Street, Leith.

"Emergency servcies attended and a 26-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by ambulance with serious injuries.

"Officers remain in attendance and enquiries are ongoing."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We received a call at 9:10 hours today to attend an incident on Academy Street, Edinburgh.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transport to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
