A car was left abandoned on a street in Edinburgh, after a dramatic police chase.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for officers in the Slateford area of the Capital, at around 6pm on Thursday.

Police took up a chase, however, they did not catch the driver. The car was found ditched near Slateford, with its lights still on.

Officers have recovered the vehicle, and are carrying out enquiries in their efforts to find the motorist.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Thursday, 6 October, 2022, a car failed to stop for officers on Slateford Road, Edinburgh.

“Officers pursued the car which was later found abandoned on Hutchison Park.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.”
