Scotland reaches hottest day of the year as temperatures rise above 30C

Scots sizzle in the sun as temperatures rise to the highest recorded this year.

Scotland has reached its hottest day of 2020 with temperatures rising above 30C.

The highest temperature recorded today (Thursday) was 30.8C in Prestwick.

Edinburgh saw highs of 26C while most of the country basked in temperatures reaching into the high 20s and low 30s.
