A kind-hearted P3 pupil from Blackhall who has been growing his locks for over 36-months has donated his 12-inch mane to people who have suffered hair loss.

On Thursday afternoon, seven-year-old Charlie Waller headed to his local hairdressers, Fine Fellas, with proud mum Morag Waller, 39, to have his hair chopped after three years without a trim.

The schoolboy was inspired to do this after seeing an article about another young boy who took part in a similar challenge.

Charlie said: “I have been growing my hair long since I was about four or five since I read a story about a boy who donated his long hair to charity.

“I thought it was a really nice idea so I started growing mine too. I also thought man buns looked really cool.”
