Notorious former Edinburgh city centre sauna set to be transformed into student accommodation

A former Edinburgh sauna that was once notorious for offering sex services is set to be transformed into student accommodation.

A planning application has been lodged with Edinburgh Council that would see the former Ambassador Sauna atLothian Road converted for residential use.

If approved, the adult entertainment complex, which closed seven years ago, would be gutted out and the wooden partitions of its former treatment rooms and other walls removed and replaced to create three separate dwellings, each with three bedrooms.
